Title: Aerospace Structures and Assemblies Technician
Location: 100% onsite in San Antonio, TX
Contract: 6-12M Contract to Hire
Schedule: 1st and 2nd shift on 4/10 Schedule
Pay: DOE
Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled Aerospace Structures and Assemblies Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling sheet metal detail and assembly parts using approved methods and hand tools as per blueprints and engineer dispositions. Additionally, they will perform various operations to manufacture, assemble, and refurbish aircraft parts and structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble sheet metal detail and assembly parts with a variety of fasteners using approved methods and hand tools from blueprints and/or engineer dispositions.
- Perform tasks such as aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures and drilling close tolerance holes.
- Conduct part-fitting operations including minor filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, drilling, reaming, riveting, countersinking, and cold working.
- Experience working with Sheet Metal, Aluminum and/or Titanium
- Measure parts using various methods to verify dimensions.
- Modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes and perform repairs as necessary.
- Work with or without blueprint diagrams, drawings, specifications, and shop orders.
- Monitor and verify quality and develop corrective action when needed.
- Perform corrosion inspection and repair per engineering requirements.
- Utilize precision measuring tools for drilling and accurately measure and map gaps, drill through composition/metal stack up, and repair composites.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in aircraft sheet metal assembly and repair preferred.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering dispositions.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
