Brooksource is searching for an Associate Application Support Analyst for our Fortune 500 Energy partner located in Uptown Charlotte, NC for a 12-month contract with strong potential for extension or hire. This is the ideal opportunity for a recent graduate with academic understanding and internship or professional application support experience to get their foot in the door and excel within a small team.

 

This individual will serve as the primary application support resource for our client’s distribution Field Mobile Application (FMA) for Customer Delivery. This involves monitoring production operation of and maintenance of the availability of assigned applications, which involves reviewing and reacting to daily performance logs and providing 24×7 on-call support. This person will respond to production emergencies (application down and logic errors) within the appropriate Service Level Agreement (SLA). They work directly with users to resolve application issues in an efficient manner.

 

Candidates will have the opportunity to learn about the Energy industry as well as a number of highly transferable technical skills.

 

Daily You Will:

 

·      Manage work in application areas of specialization, with minimal supervision.

  • Identify problems, develop solutions and take actions to resolve
  • Work with Senior level and above on responses for critical and high Incidents, System Disruption Events (SDEs), and major events.
  • Assist users and answer users’ questions, troubleshoot issues, implement fixes to assigned solutions, and work effectively with strong judgment to work unsupervised and without specific direction
  • Communicate appropriate information including downtimes, change management, status, issues, defects, etc. to users, IT management and any other necessary audience. Will present this information on technically complex subjects in an understandable manner in both oral and written form at the appropriate times
  • Work with vendors to support (broke-fix, defects, maintenance, patches, upgrades, service packages) applications and solutions.
  • Coordinate routine maintenance for emergency patches, service packs and upgrades (software) for assigned application/project.
  • Utilize appropriate Human Performance tools effectively during activities, especially testing and implementation activities.
  • Research and analyze new technology and can designs small modifications for solutions based on defined requirements.
  • Process Change Requests and Quality Assurance (QA) documentation for project implementations and support changes
  • Display good working knowledge of Customer Delivery work processes
  • Display good working knowledge of Agile methodology and roles
  • Leverage experience in end user application support
  • Leverage experience in the unique aspect of application support for field workers.

 

Skillset:

·      Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, CIS or related field

·      Prior educational or internship experience in an application or field support environment

·      Procedural and analytical thinker with attention to detail

·      Self-motivated and can work independently to meet deadlines

·      Ability to learn quickly and communicate effectively with both technical and functional individuals

 

Qualities of a Top Candidate:

·      Previous IT/application/field support experience

·      Ability to reason logically analyze, load and evaluate performance data and information, and draw appropriate conclusions. The use of excel will be very beneficial.

·      Report: Reporting Directly to the IT Manager

·      Hours: M-F 8-5PM
