We are seeking an Associate Software Engineer in Test to join our retail client’s Enterprise Data Platform team. In this role, the candidate will be a critical member of the team responsible for building and maintaining one of the most visited e-commerce sites in the world. 

This team is responsible for delivering the platform and tooling that supports machine learning and other data driven initiatives throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong Java and object-oriented development experience, paired with a natural curiosity and interest in learning about cloud, automation, and big data.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, Computer Science preferred
  • Knowledge of Java / J2EE technology
  • Experience debugging and testing web-based applications
  • Knowledge of unit testing and/or test-driven development best practices
  • Knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL, preferred
  • Experience working with REST services, APIs, Web Applications, or Client Server Architecture

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team members and others to define and understand software requirements and design.
  • Implement design patterns to enhance our highly scalable web application.
  • Contribute to the design of our full system architecture.
  • Engage in continuous improvement projects within the team and mentor other engineers.
  • Contribute unit and functional tests to certify your work meets expectations.
  • Work collaboratively in an agile environment
