AUDIO & VIDEO TECHNICIAN
Brooksource is looking for an Audio & Video Technician to join one of our clients in the insurance industry on a 6-month contract-to-hire basis in Charlotte, North Carolina. Our growing client is looking for a candidate that is passionate about troubleshooting and hands-on responsibilities.
The Audio & Video Technician will support all daily operation involving audio/video setups and conference room operability. They will also be responsible for the full operability of all equipment, troubleshooting A/V problems, and coordinating any and all repairs. Being able to work with various vendors to scope out new audio/video projects, verify equipment needed, coordinate and perform installation is a must.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Scope equipment needed for new projects based on floor plans
- Quote, order and install all new equipment needed for A/V projects
- Calculate and verify elevation heights for new tv and video conferencing installs
- Edit drawings for elevation heights per room for new projects
- Set up, maintain and troubleshoot audio video conferencing meetings
- Provide general support for general presentations and video conferences
- Answer helpdesk calls and troubleshoot problems remotely and in person
- Create and document procedures on equipment usage
- Scope and execute proof of concepts
- Work to provide vision and strategic direction on audio and video direction with new technologies
- Must be able to adapt and overcome challenges with proposed solutions
- Work with cable tv providers and schedule installs and scope of work
- Consult with and educate all levels of end-users, and interact with all levels of the organization with professionalism
- Travel will be required – 20%
- Must have a valid credit card for travel (flights, lodging, rental car). All expenses are reimbursed
Skillsets:
• Minimum 3-5 years of corporate audio/video installation experience as lead technician
• Minimum 3-5 years of Videoconference installation and configuration experience
• Proficient with 3-5 years of experience with Crestron, Extron, SnapAV and Black Box devices
• Experience working with Sharp, Samsung and Chief
• Experience working with digital signage devices
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed
• Polished and professional appearance
• Must be self-motivated, organized and punctual
• Must show self-drive and initiative
• Must be able to work with little supervision
• Must have strong customer service skills
• Must be able to adapt and overcome challenges with proposed solutions
• Ability to read and implement Electronic CAD designs
• Must be able to calculate viewing distances on CAD or PDF using Bluebeam or CAD viewer
• Ability to read building blue prints
• Ability to coordinate and work with subcontractors
• High standard of workmanship on cabling, lacing and overall presentation
• Ability to test completed systems fully for both engineering specifications and operational functionality
ENVIROMENT:
- (Hours) 8-5PM M-F (at least 30% travel responsibilities)
