AutoCAD Electrical Designer

Hybrid: Onsite Tuesday-Thursday, Remote Monday/Friday

 

Primary Duties and Accountabilities 

  • Convert 2-D standards drawings, schematics, control line diagrams to 3-D intelligent drawings. 
  • Create Protection & Control Smart Blocks using ACADE and associate attribute information. 
  • Develop/convert Protection & Control standards to smart drawings in an ACADE environment. 
  • Develop required procedures, job aids and flow charts in support of the Intelligent CAD implementation.  
  • Support database development and management efforts. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and/or Licensed Professional Engineer, Technology degree, or associate degree is acceptable.  
  • 5+ years of AutoCAD experience; at least 1 year of recent AutoCAD Electrical experience.
  • 4+ years of professional engineering experience  
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems. 
  • Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings. 
  • Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and engineering theory. 
  • Knowledge of engineering designs, principles and practices. 
  • Knowledge of complex field test equipment such as Protection and Control Relays. 
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all management levels. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Background in Power Systems (Electrical substation equipment and their functions, Protective Relays etc.) 
  • Inventor, AutoCAD Vault experience. 
  • Familiarity with SDS toolkits for substation design in ACADE 
  • Database creation and management (Microsoft Access, SQL etc.)
