Job Description:

As an Azure Administrator, you will implement, monitor and maintain Microsoft Azure solutions, including major services related to compute, storage, networking and security. The primary areas of focus for this role include administration/configuration, deployments including ARM/BICEP deployment techniques, cloud best practice documentation and implementation.

In this role, you will be a critical part of our Information Technology team providing subject matter expertise across our Cloud environment/platforms. You will partner with IT and Business resources to understand organizational needs and work to define and implement solutions that are both secure and scalable.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create, setup and implement new Azure environments (production grade, development and test)
  • Maintaining and monitoring overall Azure environment, job and file delivery applications
  • Monitor Cloud Environment spend and propose/implement cost saving measures
  • Responsible for region setup, geo-replication and recovery/backup solutions
  • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, respond and resolve issues related the Azure environments, servers and related applications as well as workflows in collaboration with Client Services, Technology Architects, Developers and fellow operations team members
  • Assess infrastructure security gaps and recommend solutions, keep up knowledge on cloud network security
  • Azure Vault and secret management
  • Storage, Disk, Blob, Archive, File Storage activities/management
  • Compute such as VMs, Containers, Azure App Services
  • Partner with Vendors to ensure awareness of new products, features and configuration items that may benefit Prospero’s growth and environment stability needs

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to assist with focusing activities toward a strategic direction as well as to develop tactical plans, drive to resolution and successful implementation
  • Problem solving skills; the ability to systematically analyze problems, draw relevant conclusions and devise appropriate courses of action
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret complex information from others
  • Ability to write technical documentation, especially in relation to Cloud architecture and hands-on experience implementing, migrating, managing, and operating systems/applications in an enterprise cloud computing environment
  • Advanced knowledge of SFTP, VNET, DNS, DHCP, and Windows Authentication
  • Advanced knowledge of Region Setup, Geo-replication and Recovery/Backup solutions for Azure and Databricks products
  • Experience with ARM Templates, Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, Azure Data Factory and Azure Service Bus
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving Azure environment performance issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc.
  • Strong experience in implementing, monitoring and maintaining Microsoft Azure solutions, including major services related to Compute, Storage, Network and Security
  • Strong knowledge of Backup, Restore, Recovery and high availability strategies for Microsoft Azure environments
  • Strong knowledge of various cloud services (DBaaS, IaaS, PaaS, & SaaS).
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot Azure server and SQL database related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resources.
  • Strong understanding and background of working with a complex Active Directory, LDAP and the requirement of strictly following standards, procedures and processes.
  • Works under minimal supervision on complex projects and may assist less experienced peers


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Health Care/ Insurance industry background (medical and pharmacy claims data a plus)
  • Azure Certified – AZ104 minimally with 5-8 years of practical experience
  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Experience with Databricks
  • Experience with PowerBI and SQL
  • Experience with Azure AD
