Billing Analyst II

This position is responsible for providing production support for the ICOMS billing system, CRM, and 3rd party applications running on the IBM Power platform. A primary responsibility is environment management which encompasses support for production, high availability, development, testing, and training databases. The person in this position will work with the release management team to ensure that milestones are met for configuring and updating environments and assist with with task coordination and schedule. Will coordinate with internal users and billing vendors to troubleshoot issues and receive and apply fixes to resolve problems. Also responsible for providing technical leadership to junior team members, developing and implementing complex solutions, and taking a more active leadership role on projects. The application administrator works collaboratively with internal contacts, billing vendors, and external contacts to meet production support service level objectives.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ICOMS and CRM application support, system and batch process monitoring, production deployment of custom programs, job scheduling and automation, and application of software upgrades, hyper fixes, and data fixes.

Creates, configures, and supports test and training environments. Ensures setup is complete before turning over to users for activity. Resolves end-user issues and works with billing vendors in regards to program deficiencies.

Participates as team member to assist markets with conversions, migrations, and database merges on the hosted platform. This includes test environment configuration and support, troubleshooting and issue resolution, and go live support. Adheres to schedule and ensures assigned tasks are completed accurately and on-time. Assists junior members of the team with task completion.

Follows department policies to ensure that internal, external, SOX, and PCI compliance requirements are met

Acquires and maintains current knowledge of relevant product offerings and support policies to provide technically accurate solutions.

Works closely with internal customers to evaluate business requirements related to the use and configuration of various business support applications.

Responsible for documenting procedures and working with technical writers to publish user guides and support documents.

Assists with end user training and problem resolution.

Participates in department on-call rotation.

Perform other duties as requested or assigned by management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Experience working with the ICOMS billing application.

Experience running ICOMS nightly jobs, month-end, billing, and other related batch processes.

Experience with IBM AS/400 and/or iSeries hardware and OS V6r1 or higher.

Experience managing and configuring Aldon’s LMI software for change management

Experience using automated solutions from Helpsystems such as Robot Schedule, Replay, Alert, and Reports.

Experience using Remedy ticketing system.

Experience with application support and developing test and troubleshooting procedures.

Proficient with use of Microsoft Office and MS Project.

Demonstrable research, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work within a fast paced, high change environment to meet timelines.

An approach to teamwork that fosters communications and collaboration.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Knowledge of cable television industry

Experience using query tools such as SQL, SEQUEL, and DBU.

Exposure to RPG, CL, and other programming languages in order to troubleshoot problems

ITIL Foundation Certification

Education

Bachelor's degree in IT or related field is preferred from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
