Job Title: Project Business Analyst – Retail
Client: Retail Fashion
Duration 6 month+ Contract-to-hire
Pay: $40-45/hr
Location: Remote (Eastern Time Zone Hours)
Job Summary:
Our fashion retail client is embarking on an exciting journey to revolutionize their RMS (Retail Management System) through Project Comet. This ambitious initiative involves a complete overhaul and migration of their RMS system to Oracle Cloud. We are seeking a dynamic and talented Business Analyst to join their team and help them drive this transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understanding User Needs: Collaborating closely with Product Owners, Functional Leads, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and cross-functional business partners to deeply understand the end user's needs related to the product.
- Requirements Gathering: Participating actively in discovery sessions and project team meetings to gather and organize project business requirements and use cases for Project Comet.
- Process Evaluation: Conducting comprehensive reviews of current and future states, capturing initial requirements, and project assumptions during the Idea and Concepting Phases in collaboration with the Project Portfolio Management (PPM), Enterprise Architects, and Technical Leads.
- Epic & Feature Mapping: Working with Business Leads, IT Application Leads, and Enterprise Architects to craft initial Epic and Feature Maps and sizing for use in project and resource planning.
- Documentation: Creating clear and concise documentation of business rules and logic through process flows, journey maps, system context diagrams, business workflows, excel matrices, visuals, and other relevant artifacts.
- Technical Collaboration: Partnering with technical teams to ensure that Feature and User stories are written at an appropriate level and align with the business requirements.
- Solution Design: Collaborating with project leaders, architects, and application teams to determine the right technical solutions that meet the business requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Coordinating with Scrum Masters and Team Business Analysts to assist in defining user story acceptance criteria, ensuring the fulfillment of business requirements, and meeting IT quality, architectural, and security standards.
- Collaborative QA: Working closely with the quality assurance team, sharing knowledge and understanding of requirements and acceptance criteria.
Qualifications:
- Business Analyst Expertise: Strong Business Analyst skills, preferably with experience in Agile methodologies.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, including collaboration, facilitation, leadership, and negotiation.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate cross-cultural communication between highly experienced business and IT associates.
- Analytical Abilities: Excellent analytical skills with the ability to understand and effectively communicate complex business and technical processes, problems, and issues.
- Organization: Excellent planning and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects/tasks in parallel.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to understand the long-term (“big picture”) and short-term perspectives of situations.
