The Business Intelligence team is a cornerstone to achieve future business objectives. This team will be primarily responsible for supporting the Business Intelligence & Analytics objectives of our client. We are seeking a data analyst to perform a key role on this team taking data and using it to help make better business decisions. The data analyst will work on data projects creating workflows using tools such as Alteryx to prepare and blend data, Microsoft SQL Reporting Services to create reports and Microsoft Power BI to create visualizations. The data analyst will also assist the applications team with support of Oracle and SQL databases and perform light DBA activities. The data analyst role requires creativity with a high attention to detail and drive for data accuracy. If you enjoy working within an agile team this may be a great role for you. 

 

Essential Functions

1. Write SQL queries

2. Interpret data, analyze results and create parameterized reports, dashboards and visualizations

3. Create workflows in Alteryx to prep, blend data and move data to internal and external sources 4. Perform light database administration duties such as user admin

5. Assist the applications teams with supporting Oracle and SQL server databases

6. Work closely with the Service Delivery team to ensure automated file movements can be effectively monitored

7. Cataloging of data sources

8. Create data models for storing, reporting and visualization purposes

9. Tune solutions to improve performance and end-user experience

10. Use good design practices that allow for recovery and restoration points

11. Assist with Alteryx and SQL Reporting Services development standards and code reviews

12. Document requirements and resolve conflicts and clear ambiguities

13. Work in teams and collaborate with others

14. Contribute to group knowledge sharing platforms and best practice

15. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned

Qualifications

• BA/BS data analytics/computer science/information or similar degree is required

• Two years job related experience is preferred

• 2+ years Microsoft SQL and/or Oracle querying is required

• 1+ years Alteryx is preferred

• 1+ years SQL Reporting Services is preferred

• 1+ years SQL administration is preferred

• Experience with Microsoft Power BI is preferred
