6-Month Contract to Hire


As a DBA Lead, you will join the Technology Services department supporting the Global Database Services team of a Fortune 50 Life Sciences company. You will be responsible for serving as a Database domain expert, executing global IT strategic initiatives while guiding and interacting with IT and business partners across sectors. You will help plan, influence, shape & define the overall technology service strategies and roadmaps.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 4-5 years’ hands-on Database Administration (Postgres, Oracle, and/or SQL Server) experience
  • Extensive experience with Amazon Web Service and Microsoft Azure Environments & Services (IAAS, PAAS, Virtual Machines, Active Directory, Automation, Monitoring)
  • Experience working with technologies such as Oracle, MySQL and PostgreSQL
  • Proven success engineering, designing, and providing new solutions in the Database space
  • Exposure managing or supporting a 24 x 7 global support model



  • Execute Global IT Strategic Initiatives including cloud-based initiatives and act as a Database domain expert (SME) to guide and interact with IT and business partners in cross-sector collaboration
  • Perform application database design assessments with technical Product Owners to build and deploy complex database solutions that meet business needs
  • Guide Database engineering strategy from a management perspective with an operational background
  • Perform as database centric, providing new solutions through technology/services research and performing proof-of-concept experiments
  • Leverage their Database platform as a service as the strategy looks to supports a hybrid cloud migration (such as AWS, Azure, IaaS & PaaS platforms)
  • Partner with and evaluate external vendor offerings to help enhance the database service to better meet business needs and align to those strategies
