FULL STACK DEVELOPER IV

12 month contract
Our Fortune 100 consumer electronics retail client is looking for a talented mid-senior level Full Stack Developer to join their Engagement Platform team. This role will focus on bringing new technologies to life for our client’s ecommerce site View Architecture. The team is currently building out a Federated GraphQL Platform to connect front end experiences with backend domain microservices, aiming to radically improve the way the company uses data. We strive to empower experience creators by leveraging GraphQL at scale and ensuring the ability for our customers to create the best experiences for our customers by leveraging data in interesting ways.
Position Summary/Job Description:
• Use GraphQL to solve complex problems at scale.
• Create effective tooling to empower developers to quickly leverage data.
• Join a team of highly skilled, collaborative, and energetic engineers working on the Engagement Platform.
• Develop new solutions that makes development faster and easier for both front end experience teams as well as domain data providers. • Mentor and coach junior developers.
• Provide expertise in software development lifecycle phases, including concept, design, testing and deployment
• Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to solve problems of a top 5 e-commerce website
• Develop software using current and leading-edge programming languages and technologies
• Share and champion ideas that evolve how we build our software product
Skills Overview: Required Skillset:
• 5+ years of experience writing software applications for large-scale, distributed web or service-oriented environments
• 5+ years of experience in Java
• 5+ years of experience in Groovy
• 3+ years of experience with RabbitMQ
• 3+ years of experience producing and/or consuming REST web services
• 3+ years of experience in NodeJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, ReactJS
• 2+ years of experience developing automated unit tests using Jest or Mocha/Chai or equivalent
• An interest in GraphQL or related technology
Preferred Skillset:
• Experience with consuming GraphQL services
• Experience designing and building GraphQL services
• Experience with the Apollo Server
• Experience with working with Federated GraphQL services. Using the Apollo Federation specification.
• 2+ years of experience using NoSQL data stores
• 2+ years of experience using functional programming
• Experience with off-heap caching solutions, such as Memcached
• Experience with container platforms, such as Docker
• Experience leading small technical teams
• Experience building and maintaining a CI/CD development pipeline
• Team focused attitude and willingness to work in a collaborative setting
