Lead Application Architect


Our client, a multi-billion dollar enterprise organization in West Michigan is investing heavily in IT and growing their organization.  The Application Architect will support legacy applications and will also introduce new technologies and provide technology upgrades to the environment. Looking for collaborative individuals to work in an Agile environment and work closely with the Scrum team.  


Must Haves:

1.        5+ years’ experience working hands-on with Java-based applications,

·        Must have previous experience as an Application Architect, or similar role.

·        Must have experience moving applications through the entire SDLC, from Pre-Production to Production.

2.        3+ years’ experience working with application servers, and deploying applications.  

·        WebLogic is preferred, but WebSphere is also sufficient.

·        This role will be involved of a WebLogic upgrade to 12.2.

3.        3+ years’ experience working with cloud technologies.

·        Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is preferred, but AWS and Azure are also sufficient.

4.      Strong experience working in an Agile environment, and participation in agile ceremonies including: Sprint Planning, Daily Stand Ups, User Stories/Story Boards, Retrospectives, etc.

Strongly Preferred:

·           Strong experience working with front-end technologies such as JavaScript and Angular.js

·           Strong SQL Experience

·           Experience working with JIRA.

·           Experience working in a SAFe Agile environment an experience in Program Increment (PI) planning sessions.

·           Experience working in a DevOps environment, and experience building a CI/CD pipeline.

Additional Responsibilities:

a.      Help define, shape and communicate application architecture standards across the team’s product portfolio and the broader enterprise

b.      Designs and develops programs according to the specifications and established coding standards, and testing them for accuracy and optimal performance

c.      Analyzes current business systems, determining the scope and estimates for tasks related enhancements or issues that need to be resolved

d.      Analyzes and support current software packages.

e.      Collaborates with other architects to establish technical requirements

f.       Work in a collaborative Agile environment and work with Business Analysts, Software Developers, QA Testers, Product Owners, Team Lead, Scrum Master, etc.

g.      Creates architecture documentation and present for review

h.      Collaborates with internal customers to establish technical requirements

i.        Performs integrated testing of systems for accuracy, reliability, and optimal performance

j.        Performs system software maintenance, support, and requirements analysis

k.      Conducts and facilitates formal code reviews
