Mid-Level Software Engineer

Minneapolis, MN OR Remote

 

Our non-profit, Fortune 500 Financial Services client is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer to join their team due to a recent promotion, with eyes on an upcoming digital transformation. We are looking for a candidate who is eager to work alongside and learn from client’s leadership team to deliver digital application that ensure an exceptional online experience for the entire Thrivent team. This candidate will work with a team of experienced Engineers, as well as a Product owner to maximize efficient workflow automation.

 

Responsibilities

·      Provide support for proprietary applications.

·      Upgrade and maintain existing systems and software.

·      Supports back-office stakeholders within the Investments division of Thrivent.

·      Provide support for business applications (proprietary and/or vendor applications) including:

·      Enhancement and/or new development work on projects

·      Upgrades to existing systems

·      Routine maintenance and support activities

·      Participation in on-call rotation to provide 24×7 support for existing systems

·      Work collaboratively in a team environment with business resources and other application engineers.

·      Use established agile methodologies and tools to identify, verify and document technical features that

·      support development of business-driven technology solutions.

 

Required Qualifications

 

·      2-4 years technical experience utilizing Java

·      Experience with SQL Database

·      Ability to learn new development languages, tools, and structures

·      Application Engineer, Investments

·      Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, business, mathematics, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to learn and use new languages, tools, and structures.
  • Excellent documentation experience using Microsoft office, SharePoint or similar tool.
  • Ability to identifying process issues and suggestions for improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
