Network Engineer I
Brooksource is searching for an Associate Network Engineer for our Fortune 75 Telecommunications partner located in Charlotte, NC. This is the ideal opportunity for a recent Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree graduate with a technical understanding of networking to support a large, fast-paced, and innovative infrastructure environment.
DAILY YOU WILL:
· Work under the direction of a Senior Network Engineer to learn the technical environment including but not limited to Cisco and Nexus
· Configure firewalls and load balancers
· Configure and install various network devices and services
· Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
· Plans and implements enterprise networks and related hardware and software
· Design and documents network architecture
· Implement communication technologies (data or voice)
· Performs assessments on existing technologies to determine performance and capacity gaps
· Establishes security (firewalls, intrusion detection), connectivity, and access parameters
· Provides recommendations to optimize network infrastructure. Tests and tunes security devices and systems
· Program routers and switches
· Manage network services from planning phase through implementation
SKILLSET:
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Networking or related field
· Basic knowledge of routing and switching
· CCNA or Net+ Certification is a plus
· Basic knowledge of network and security architecture including gateways, switches, VLANs, firewalls and fiber networks
ENVIRONMENT:
· (Hours) Regular 8-5 Monday-Friday
· (Dress code) Business casual
· (Location) South Charlotte, NC – Hybrid schedule of 3 days in office and 2 days at home

· Ability to reason logically analyze and evaluate performance data and information, and draw appropriate conclusions
