Brooksource is searching for a Network Engineer III for one of our leading Fortune 500 telecommunication clients in the Charlotte area. You will be working with the network environment for the client nationwide. Network engineers will be responsible for handling a variety of projects, installations, and disconnects for equipment. They need to have experience with MPLS, DWDM, CWDM, and a background in the telecommunications industry. This is a great opportunity for someone who is capable of working independently but maintaining a relationship with a remote team.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

·        Logging into and maintaining Juniper devices

·        Certifying that minimum requirements are maintained

·        Perform basic operation testing on devices

·        Releasing devices into operation

·        Working on a ticket by ticket basis

·        Troubleshooting the network

·        Configurations using Juniper, Cisco, Nortel and ALU

·        Disconnecting out of date equipment

·        CLI scripting

Required Qualifications

·        Juniper experience and knowledge

·        Cisco, Nortel, and ALU experience

·        Ciena and Legacy SONET/TDM

·        DWDM and CWDM Network experience, Cell Tour Backhaul, and Optical troubleshooting

·      Previous experience with a Telecommunications company

·        Work independently – most of the group sits in different locations across the country

·        Good communication skills

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
