Network Engineer

As the Network Engineer, you will support business services initiatives for an enterprise company. As the Network Engineer, your main focus will be to help separate residential and commercial traffic and to work closely with divisional project managers to achieve goals and perform implementations.

Responsibilities:

·      Support both standard customers as well as large/complex customers with custom designs and configurations

·      Exercise judgment during incident management, site design, network configuration and network activation to ensure efficient use of time

·      Work with Project Managers, provide configurations and technical leadership as a primary technical resource on IP router network technologies, traffic flows, and overall end to end network communication during the Service Delivery process

·      Regularly update PM with issues/progress status. May provide project leadership, as required.

·      Coordinate and resolve service issues with providers and vendors to ensure accurate and timely implementation and resolution of off-net Underlay circuit issues

Qualifications:

·      Minimum 5 years of related experience

·      Strong understanding of the following protocols: BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, LCP, RSVP, L2VPN

·      Prior experience working within a service provider environment

·      Demonstrates expert level knowledge of Internet Protocol (IP) routing and switching fundamentals

·      Displays in-depth knowledge of engineering and development methodologies, concepts, skills, and their application

·      Strong hands-on troubleshooting experience

·      Experience with implementation of protocol and traffic cut changes
