QA Automation Engineer

$25-$30 / hour (depending on experience)

As the QA Automation Engineer, you will aid in the testing process of a massive modernization initiative and be a part of a growing automated environment. You will bring a deep understanding of automation engineering and assist in the build of an automation framework for a customer service portal application for a Fortune 13 pharmaceutical benefit management enterprise. Alongside a team of React and Springboot developers, you will use Java as the primary language and leverage your skills in Cucumber, Selenium, Jenkins and Git to perform some manual and mostly automated testing. You will serve as a key team member for automation initiatives and create/implement test strategy to support the next generation of technological innovation in this company!

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience using Java as a primary programming language
  • Familiar with programming/maintenance of an automation framework and conversion of manual cases to automated testing approaches using Selenium, Cucumber, Jenkins, and Git
  • Good understanding of automation design patterns and software testing principles and methodologies
  • Understanding of load and performance testing including design, development, implementation, and reporting
  • Knowledgeable with Agile/Scrum development processes/principles
  • Strong communication collaboration skills, team-player mentality
  • Ability to learn quickly, receive and react on feedback

Responsibilities:

  • Assist a team of developers and other manual/automation QAs to build a customer service portal, which is very large and critical to customers' healthcare needs
  • Review requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Design and create test conditions and scripts to address business and technical use cases
  • Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with development teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution
  • Establishes best practices in automated testing to encourage well-documented and reproducible testing results
  • Work with Application Developers to resolve application entrance criteria, defects, and anomalies
  • Interact with project managers and developers to drive projects to on-time, quality releases
  • Continuously learn through asking questions and assisting with confidence in your skills
  • Bring a positive and motivating attitude to the growing automation teams
