Role: Quality Engineer

Location: Charlotte, NC

3-6 month Contract to Hire

 

Brooksource is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our Fortune 75 Telecommunications client in the south Charlotte, NC area. As a QE, you will be joining the advertising and marketing technology group and will be responsible ensuring quality of code and process from developers on the team. The QE will ensure the quality of application delivery by designing and executing test cases designed to exercise and validate the changes made and our current production application requirements. You will be joining a project team, and communicating progress, technical issues and resolution with other team members. You will be on the lead innovation team behind automating their testing efforts.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·      Work with developers in a TDD (test driven development) environment to ensure they are correctly testing their own code at each step

·      Work with developers and managers to improve process around TDD

·      Interpret written business requirements and technical specification documents to design and test technical solutions that meet business needs

·      Collaborate with IT and Business partners to design, develop, and troubleshoot end to end technical solutions

·      Test the resulting components in accordance with company standards and as defined in approved testing plans

·      Detect and determine disposition of all application defects prior to deployment

·      Provide transparency via documentation and reporting of application quality prior to deployment

·      Develop, document and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts like the test data, data validation, harness scripts and automated scripts.

·      Investigate, analyze and document reported defects – raising issues as appropriate

·      Analyze run time profiles to debug errors that may exist

·      Create, document, and implement unit test plans, scripts, and test harnesses

·      Design and implement executable code solutions in accordance with business needs

·      Accountable for on time application delivery in accordance with business needs and within budget that meets or exceeds quality standards

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·      Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in Computer Science, MIS, CIS, or a related field

·      3-5 years of strong testing experience and data extracting

·      Knowledge of testing and debugging

·      Understanding of Java programming and the framework of object-oriented programming languages

·      Experience working within an Agile environment

·      Solid understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) from a testing perspective

·      Able to interface with and communicate with clients’ executives and manager in a professional manner

·      Passion for learning new technologies

·      Nice to Have Technologies: Cypress, Cucumber, Test Rail

·      An understanding of Python and Angular to be able to communicate efficiently with the development teams

·      Experience with test automation around validation
