One of our most prominent clients in the Saint Paul area is seeking a Scrum Master to join their growing team. The Scrum Master will guide teams toward successful outcomes in project delivery with focus on communication, velocity, reduction of waste and quality, and will help create a culture of continuous improvement

The ideal candidate will have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, hold a Scrum Master certification and have past experience guiding development teams on Agile/Scrum best practices.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and facilitate the structured rhythm of activities throughout the Sprints, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives
  • Model a culture of continuous improvement through Sprint Retrospectives and by encouraging experimentation and innovation in processes
  • Identify and track internal and external dependencies
  • Ensure that appropriate Scrum artifacts are accurate and visible, including core progress tracking through Burndown and Velocity charts
  • Motivate team toad here to defined processes and structured activities such as the Daily Stand-up Meeting to optimize the effectiveness of the team
  • Assist Product Owners with backlog grooming, prioritization, and planning
  • Work with the team to maximize productivity and remove impediments that obstruct the Sprint goals
  • Work with Lean Agile Coach to sustain adoption of agile practices

Qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in any combination of the following roles or functions: IT (full SDLC experience beneficial), Scrum Master, Project Management
  • Industry-recognized Agile certification (e.g. CSM, CSPO, PSM) is desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate teams without direct authority
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution recommended
  • Comfortable working across time zones with a global team
  • Previous experience with Jira is desirable
