Sr. Database Admin (AMC C2)

Conversion Salary – $90k
Brooksource is seeking a Senior Database Administrator for one of our clients in the Defense contracting space to join the Applications, Infrastructure and Systems Support Third Iteration (AISS III) contract at Scott AFB. AISS III provides systems engineering, migration, integration and sustainment, service lifecycle management, system, network and database administration, training, testing, architecture and system design, configuration and asset management, and information assurance support. This person should have working knowledge of AMC C2 Database/System and be a self-motivated professional with strong technical skills. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases.
- Conducts performance tuning of indexes, optimization of storage functionality, and databases in general.
- Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
- Maintains security and integrity controls.
- Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization.
- May work with vendors.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s Degree and 6 YOE, OR Associate’s Degree and 8 YOE, OR HS Diploma + 10 YOE in related field
· The candidate MUST be in the Scott AFB area, normally able to get to the base within an hour.
· The candidate MUST have an ACTIVE DoD Secret Security Clearance
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
· CompTIA Security + (or equivalent) required to start
· PREFERRED – Certified in one of the following: Windows, RedHat, Solaris, Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres SQL, Mongo DB, VMWare, CISCO, F5, Tivoli
