Data Center Migration Project Manager

Brooksource is seeking a Project Manager for a leading energy and utilities partner who would be responsible for development of deliverables for migration of network and security edge devices from two data centers. You will work with network, infrastructure, physical and cyber security teams to document detailed plans for upgrading, purchasing and migrating all host systems. As well as manage the execution of the data center edge move program in conjunction with IT managers and business stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and document the road map strategy to complete migration and new purchases
    • Sequence
    • Timeline
    • Resource plan
    • Budget
  • Co-ordinate engagement of all internal and external dependencies
    • Vendors
    • Resources
    • Management
  • Schedule and chair regular project steering committee meetings
  • Identifying gaps in technology capability versus business requirement
  • Supervising internal IT staff, consultants, vendors and suppliers
  • Meeting with IT analysts and finalizing essential components
  • Planning and supervising installation of IT infrastructure
  • Project management (scope, budget and schedule) including regular management reporting for projects remediation, user testing and roll out
  • Identify potential project risks and its implication to the organization and to recommend mitigating measures to manage the risks
  • Responsibilities for ensuring adherence of all deliverables to appropriate standards and quality levels
  • Identify, document and communicate all regulatory requirements pursuant to remote hosting and data retention

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent knowledge about all aspects of information technology specifically with complex infrastructure environments
  • Excellent people skills, an ability to work harmoniously in remote environments
  • Ability to work across all levels of IT and business management
  • Excellent analytical and observation skills
  • Ability to keep up with latest developments in the field of IT
  • Good written and oral communication skills, an ability to present concise reports and recommendations
  • Excellent planning and organization ability
