Job Description

Our Fortune 50 Health Insurance client is seeking Site Reliability Engineers to assist in remediating open security vulnerabilities, server patching and 3rd party software upgrades for critical member facing and internal applications. As an SRE, you will work through this initial backlog, then transition into supporting automation opportunities tied to security scans, automating vulnerability remediation for servers that require consistent upgrades, and integrate code vulnerability scans into software deployment pipelines. Future state of these roles is the creation of a larger, DevSecOps shared service as many of these applications are migrated to the cloud.


Daily You Will:

  • Research open security vulnerabilities, identify necessary remediation steps and either implement fix directly or work with necessary development team to have remediated.
  • Take a CVE identifier, research the security risk, research mitigation strategies, and lead efforts to mitigate and close the vulnerability
  • Server patching & 3rd party software upgrades
  • Work through a backlog of open vulnerabilities.
  • Work on automation of reporting related to security scans
  • Work on automation of vulnerability remediation for servers that repeatedly need upgrades
  • Integrate code vulnerability scans into software deployment pipelines to ensure code vulnerabilities cannot be deployed outside of dev environments
  • Future state – adapt existing processes to work within AWS cloud deployments



  • Proactive, Positive Attitude
  • Professional experience with Security Vulnerabilities (CVE identifiers)
  • Automation mindset
  • Experience with software development, code deployment, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Previous SRE experience supporting servers running a Java stack (JBoss, Tomcat, Weblogic, SQL DB backend)
  • Understanding/SRE experience supporting containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS cloud, etc.)
  • Nice to have – AWS cloud experience, or similar platform

·      Hours: Monday- Friday, 9:00AM – 5PM CST / 10:00AM – 6PM EST
