Solution Architect – Backend
100% Onsite – Trenton, NJ

As a Solution Architect (Backend) at Brooksource, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our client's diverse IT initiatives within their IT centralization project. Your primary focus will be on creating High-Level Design (HLD), Detailed Design (DD), Order of Magnitude, Level of Effort (LOE), and Architecture documents for back-end systems. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing prototype APIs and user interfaces while providing leadership to developers and occasionally acting as a Lead Back-End Developer.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Solution Architecture Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, system analysts, and business stakeholders, to design and create high-level and detailed architectural solutions for back-end systems. Ensure that architectural designs align with project requirements and industry best practices.
- API Development: Utilize your expertise in Spring Boot APIs to design, develop, and implement high-performance, scalable, and secure back-end APIs that power various applications and services.
- Web Services Integration: Oversee the integration of web services with existing back-end systems, ensuring seamless data exchange and effective communication between different components of the IT infrastructure.
- Full Stack Java Development: Apply your previous full-stack Java development experience to contribute to the design and implementation of end-to-end solutions, where necessary, with a strong focus on back-end.
- Prototype Development: Lead the development of prototype APIs and user interfaces to validate technical concepts, performance, and feasibility of new features and functionalities.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developers within the team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Performance Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks in back-end systems and propose effective optimization strategies to enhance system efficiency and responsiveness.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure that back-end systems adhere to security standards, data privacy regulations, and industry best practices to safeguard sensitive information.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 7 YOE in solution architecture, back-end development, and related activities within the IT industry.
- Proficiency in developing Spring Boot APIs, demonstrating a deep understanding of Spring framework.
- Strong experience with web services integration, including RESTful APIs and SOAP services.
- Previous experience in full-stack Java development, with both front-end and back-end responsibilities.
- Knowledge of back-end development languages and technologies, such as Java, Python, Node.js, etc.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing scalable and high-performance back-end systems.
- Familiarity with cloud-based technologies and platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in working with microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.
- Relevant certifications in Solution Architecture or Back-End Development.
