Senior Android Developer – (Android TV)

Atlanta, 9 Month Contract-to-Hire


As a Senior Android TV Developer, you will be responsible for designing, architecting, building and maintaining native TV applications for our Digital Media Client's news television properties. The successful candidate must have an established background in designing, architecting and developing customer-facing native SmartTV/Connected TV (CTV) applications, a strong technical ability, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.


  • Development and delivery of our client's television properties Android TV apps
  • Design, architect and build innovative, exceptional and well-engineered mobile applications with intuitive, well-designed user interfaces that satisfy both internal and external customer requirements
  • Participate in and help drive architecture and design decisions
  • Participate in the Scrum activities (daily standups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and planning)
  • Participate in and influence user interface interaction and design decisions
  • Work closely with the QA team to facilitate thorough testing


  • Minimum 4-6 years’ experience in software development with 2-4 years of android mobile application development
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines (or equivalent education and experience)
  • Proven expertise in Android application programming (Java, Android SDK, Android Studio)
  • Deep understanding of memory management, file I/O, network programming, and multi-threading required 
  • Solid experience integrating 3rd party API’s and SDK’s
  • Experience using GIT or other revision control software
  • Expertise in mobile video delivery, streaming and playback
  • Experience with Agile development projects, especially Scrum
  • Published examples of applications on the Google Play Store
  • Experience managing app store compliance and submissions
  • Passion for working in small teams with rapid development cycles
  • Proven results-oriented person with a delivery and quality focus
  • Expertise in Google analytics and ads integration (DFP) a plus
  • Experience with media related applications (TV, Radio and Newspaper) or building large consumer-oriented applications a plus
