BUSINESS SYSTEMS & DATA ANALYST
Location: **Hybrid in Cincinnati** (onsite 2 to 3 days per week) – 38 Fountain Square Plaza Cincinnati, OH 45202
Rate: $40-45/hr
Duration: LONG TERM CONTRACT (through end of 2024)
GENERAL FUNCTION:
This role is a member of the team responsible to support the FTP (Funds Transfer Pricing) technical processes. FTP is a critical bank methodology used in product pricing, liquidity, funding management, balance sheet management and profitability management. It helps in accurately measuring a financial institutions profitability on deposits and loans by assessing the cost or credit of funds.
This role requires interacting with business partners on a regular basis to understand business asks for analysis from monthly/weekend cycles, translate new requirements to technical execution and to facilitate testing. Expect to investigate, identify root causes, explain to the LOB and identify mitigations for any incidents and problem tickets related to FTP calculations. Strong verbal and written communications are required to explain analysis. Maintain & communicate the application backlog. Drives for continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports and recommends priorities for application backlog, where backlog includes both business and technical needs. Participate in team prioritization decisions.
- Defines and coordinates work requirements by identifying milestones, phases, and elements.
- Manage and execute monthly manual cycle processing, validations and reruns at the beginning of each month. Resolve issues. Identify and support opportunities to automate monthly cycle processing.
- Support, as needed, weekend cycle processing.
- Manage and resolve incident tickets and service requests to SLA’s, Level 2 Help Desk.
- Write SQL scripts to analyze data directly from the DB, in order to resolve incidents and service requests.
- Understand inbound/outbound data, and maintain relationships with respective IT teams.
- Read and interpret inbound/outbound ETL for analysis and incident resolution
- Maintains system protocols by writing and updating both business and IT procedures
- Write and maintain user documentation. Train users.
- Maintain access and communicate with software vendor via their website, as required.
- Support basic application management functions including access management, governance and environment management. Partner with the technical lead as required.
- Attend team operational ceremonies like daily team meetings and monthly backlog planning, including regular connections with LOB partners.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Finance or comparable.
- Experience writing SQL scripts, to pull data for analysis.
- MUST be able to navigate Oracle DB’s
- MUST have hands on project experience moving an on prem environment to the cloud on the analytics side
- Experience documenting user requirements, and partnering with technical teams to translate business requirements to technical requirements
- Experience with Excel, used for data analysis & data uploads
- Understand ITIL basics
- Understand Software Development Methodologies

Nice to Have Skills / Knowledge:
- Experience with Databases – Oracle, IBM DB2, SQL Server, etc.
- Experience with UNIX a plus
- 1-2 years of experience preferably in Banking/Finance industry a plus.
- Experience with Finance processes, especially FTP, a plus
- Experience with ticketing systems, ServiceNow experience is a plus
- Understand system monitoring tools, SiteScope experience is a plus
- Understand File Transfer Services. IBM Sterling experience is a plus
- Experience supporting user needs of applications, a plus
- Understand ETL, IBM Datastage experience a plus
- Understand on-call tracking applications, EverBridge experience is a plus
- Understand workload schedulers. TWS (Tivoli Workload Scheduler) experience is a plus
