We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in the design, development, and validation of advanced battery pack enclosures. As a Mechanical Lead Engineer, you will own mechanical pack design from concept through prototype and validation\u2014balancing aggressive performance, cost, and weight targets while supporting rapid innovation. The position offers a dynamic work environment across office, lab, and manufacturing settings, with opportunities for meaningful career growth and impact.<\/p>\n<h3>WHAT YOU&#39;LL DO<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead mechanical design, fabrication, assembly, and debugging activities for advanced battery pack systems<\/li>\n<li>Design and integrate high-voltage electrical components (bus bars, power electronics) while maintaining proper electrical isolation<\/li>\n<li>Own packaging studies, interface analysis, and system-level integration across mechanical, electrical, and thermal domains<\/li>\n<li>Perform tolerance stack-ups and define datum and assembly strategies<\/li>\n<li>Identify design risks early and rapidly prototype solutions to mitigate them<\/li>\n<li>Create detailed 3D CAD models and GD&amp;T drawings for complex parts and assemblies<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with suppliers to define requirements and obtain quotes for prototype and low-volume manufacturing<\/li>\n<li>Optimize designs using analytical, numerical, and empirical methods<\/li>\n<li>Support program efforts focused on novel battery pack structures and new mechanical concepts<\/li>\n<li>Work cross-functionally with structural, thermal, electrical, software, and vehicle integration teams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>WHAT YOU BRING<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline<\/li>\n<li>4+ years of experience in battery pack, module, or power electronics mechanical design<\/li>\n<li>Strong 3D CAD experience (NX, Teamcenter, SolidWorks, and\/or OnShape)<\/li>\n<li>Proven experience leading hardware designs from concept through proof-of-concept or prototype validation<\/li>\n<li>Hands-on background with sub-assembly and top-level testing, including test plan ownership and model correlation<\/li>\n<li>Experience in R&amp;D or prototype-focused environments<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with low-volume manufacturing methods and supplier collaboration<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of structural analysis (metals and\/or composites), including fatigue and test data correlation<\/li>\n<li>Experience with thermal management of mechanical and electrical systems<\/li>\n<li>Ability to design for harsh environmental conditions (vibration, corrosion, water intrusion, thermal exposure)<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>WORK ENVIRONMENT<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Onsite role based at company headquarters in Novi, MI<\/li>\n<li>Mix of office, lab, and manufacturing floor work<\/li>\n<li>Standard schedule: Monday\u2013Friday, with flexibility as business needs require<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>WHAT&#39;S IN IT FOR YOU<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Opportunity to join a fast-growing, innovative company at the forefront of energy storage technology<\/li>\n<li>Meaningful career growth and long-term opportunity to make a real impact<\/li>\n<li>Competitive medical, dental, and vision insurance<\/li>\n<li>Health Savings Account and Dependent Care FSA<\/li>\n<li>Supplemental coverage options<\/li>\n<li>401k plan with company match and full vesting upon eligibility<\/li>\n<li>Paid time off, sick time, and paid company holidays<\/li>\n<li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP) including virtual counseling, financial and legal services, and life coaching<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>EEO STATEMENT<\/h3>\n<p>Brooksource is an equal opportunity employer that does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, creed, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, sex or gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, lactation and related medical conditions), gender identity or gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, military service and veteran status, physical or mental disability, protected medical condition as defined by applicable state or local law, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws and ordinances.<\/p>\n<h3>PAY DISCLAIMER<\/h3>\n<p>The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
