ABOUT THE ROLE<\/h3>\n

Our client is seeking an experienced Java Developer in Columbus, Ohio to support the modernization of a highly visible, business-critical 24×7 application used daily across the organization. This platform, in production for several years, is undergoing a major transformation to improve scalability, performance, and maintainability. This is an opportunity to work on a large-scale enterprise application while leveraging modern Java development practices, AWS cloud technologies, containerization, and AI-assisted development tools. The team supports both legacy enhancements and new application development initiatives, providing exposure to a variety of technologies and challenges. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java and AWS, experience with microservices architectures, relational databases, ORM frameworks, and a passion for technology and continuous improvement.<\/p>\n

<\/h3>\n

WHAT YOU'LL DO<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Design, develop, and maintain Java\/J2EE enterprise applications and microservices<\/li>\n
  • Support the modernization of a large-scale, business-critical application used across the organization<\/li>\n
  • Build and consume RESTful and GraphQL APIs<\/li>\n
  • Develop event-driven solutions utilizing messaging platforms such as Kafka, SQS, or similar<\/li>\n
  • Deploy and support applications in AWS cloud environments<\/li>\n
  • Implement containerized solutions using Docker and Kubernetes<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to CI\/CD automation and cloud infrastructure initiatives<\/li>\n
  • Utilize AI-assisted development tools as part of the software development process<\/li>\n
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions<\/li>\n
  • Participate in continuous learning and adoption of new technologies and best practices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    WHAT YOU BRING<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • 5+ years of Java development experience (8-10 years preferred)<\/li>\n
    • Strong expertise with Java and AWS (the most critical skills for this role)<\/li>\n
    • Experience building RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, and microservices architectures<\/li>\n
    • Knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL<\/li>\n
    • Experience with Hibernate, JPA, or similar ORM frameworks<\/li>\n
    • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes<\/li>\n
    • Familiarity with CI\/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code tools<\/li>\n
    • Experience developing event-driven solutions using Kafka, SQS, or similar messaging platforms<\/li>\n
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills<\/li>\n
    • Genuine passion for technology, learning new tools, and continuous improvement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
