As a key member of our high-performing Data &amp; Analytics team, you will participate in building the next generation of data pipelines and ETL processes, handling complex, large volumes of structured and unstructured data. This role is central to a major infrastructure transformation\u2014migrating our core data platform to AWS and Snowflake\u2014and will be critical to ensuring engineering rigor, operational resilience, and effective knowledge transfer to the internal team.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p> You will work at the intersection of real estate, operations, and AI, helping to build the data foundation that powers pricing models, operational intelligence tools, and strategic decisions across 40+ divisions of one of the nation\u2019s largest homebuilders. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with production experience in AWS data services, Python, and Snowflake, who can build maintainable, observable, and scalable pipelines. You will collaborate with both internal and external partners, deliver consistent productivity, and take pride in owning the quality of your work.<\/p>\n<h3>WHAT YOU&#39;LL DO<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Design, build, and maintain efficient and scalable data pipelines and ETL processes for large volumes of structured and unstructured data<\/li>\n<li>Optimize data storage and retrieval methods to ensure performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions<\/li>\n<li>Implement data governance, data security, and compliance measures to protect sensitive data and ensure regulatory compliance<\/li>\n<li>Develop and manage data integrations between internal systems and third-party data providers<\/li>\n<li>Conduct performance tuning of SQL queries and data processing workflows to improve system efficiency<\/li>\n<li>Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, data models, and related processes<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical support and mentorship to junior data engineers, guiding them in best practices and problem-solving<\/li>\n<li>Write clean, modular Python code for data ingestion, transformation logic, and orchestration, applying software engineering best practices including testing, versioning, and code review<\/li>\n<li>Build and maintain data quality frameworks, pipeline observability, and alerting systems to ensure confidence in production data across critical domains such as pricing, supply chain, and sales operations<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform to provision and manage cloud resources in a repeatable, auditable way (experience a plus; willingness to learn required)<\/li>\n<li>Support end-to-end project ownership and knowledge transfer to internal teams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>WHAT YOU BRING<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field<\/li>\n<li>2-4 years of experience in Data Engineering or a related role, with demonstrated success in delivering data solutions<\/li>\n<li>Proficient in SQL, including writing complex queries, query optimization, and performance tuning<\/li>\n<li>Experience with AWS data services and Snowflake in production environments<\/li>\n<li>Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala, with experience in data processing frameworks (e.g., Glue, Lambda, S3, dbt, Qlik, Apache Spark, Hadoop)<\/li>\n<li>Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB) and understanding of their use cases<\/li>\n<li>Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Snowflake, Azure) and data services (e.g., Redshift, Data Sync, Appflow, Databricks)<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, HBase) and distributed data processing<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with data orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Luigi) for scheduling and managing data workflows<\/li>\n<li>Experience with data versioning and testing tools (e.g., DVC, dbt)<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of data security practices, including encryption, access controls, and data masking<\/li>\n<li>Ability to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes<\/li>\n<li>Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams, translating business requirements into engineering solutions<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to learn and contribute to infrastructure-as-code practices (e.g., Terraform)<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to deliver high-quality, maintainable, and observable data solutions in a fast-paced environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>WHAT&#39;S IN IT FOR YOU<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The opportunity to deliver impact across one of the largest homebuilders in the United States<\/li>\n<li>A corporate culture focused on growth, development, and innovation<\/li>\n<li>Freedom to try new impactful ideas and end-to-end project ownership<\/li>\n<li>Ability to deploy your work to teams across 40+ divisions and interact directly with those teams<\/li>\n<li>Hybrid work schedule with locations in Miami, FL or Dallas, TX<\/li>\n<li>Healthcare (medical, dental, vision) and 401k matching<\/li>\n<li>Occasional travel for team activities and meetings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS<\/h3>\n<p>This is primarily a sedentary office position that requires the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs.
