Delivering at\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>this pace demands that security is not a checkpoint at the end of development, but an engineered capability embedded\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>into every layer of how we build and deploy software.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The Senior DevSecOps Engineer is responsible for building and operating the security guardrails, tooling, and automation\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>that enable PennEngineering&#39;s engineering teams to ship code safely at high velocity. This is a hands-on leadership role:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>part builder, part automator, part platform engineer. You will own the security posture of our global AWS cloud\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>environment and customer-facing platforms, automate the guardrails that protect organizational assets, and ensure that\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>our CI\/CD pipelines enforce security by design, without creating friction that slows our teams down.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>As PennEngineering&#39;s AI application portfolio grows, including AI-powered workflows, agentic systems, and customerfacing digital platforms, this role will play a critical part in implementing, and helping to shape, the security architecture\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>and governance frameworks that allow those systems to operate reliably, safely, and at enterprise scale.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Key Responsibilities:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cloud Security Posture &amp; Remediation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Continuously assess, harden, and elevate the security posture of PennEngineering&#39;s AWS cloud infrastructure,\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>covering both customer-facing platforms and internal enterprise systems\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Design and build custom security tools, frameworks, and policies tailored to protect PennEngineering&#39;s internal\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>and external organizational assets\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Own the end-to-end vulnerability management lifecycle, including triage, tracking, prioritization, and automated\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>remediation of identified vulnerabilities and cloud misconfigurations\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Establish a continuous posture improvement program with defined baselines, remediation SLAs, and executivelevel reporting on security health\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pipeline Security &amp; CI\/CD Integration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Design and implement automated security scanning (SAST, SCA, and DAST), embedded directly into CI\/CD\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>pipelines, ensuring checks are high-fidelity and low-latency to support our daily deployment cadence\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Configure pre-commit hooks, pull request checks, and branch protection rules that automatically detect and block\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>secrets, misconfigurations, or vulnerable dependencies before they reach production\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Partner with AI engineering teams to secure AI\/LLM workloads within the pipeline, including prompt injection\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>protections, model input\/output validation, and agentic system guardrails\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Establish security gate standards and developer-friendly documentation so engineering teams understand what is\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>enforced, why, and how to resolve failures quickly\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Automated Governance &amp; Policy-as-Code<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Replace manual security audits with automated policy enforcement using infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform,\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>AWS Config), ensuring non-compliant infrastructure cannot be provisioned<\/p>\n<p>Build event-driven automation to detect and auto-remediate common security issues in near real-time, reducing\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>mean time to respond across the environment\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Define and maintain security governance standards, including access controls, secrets management, encryption\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>policies, and data classification frameworks\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Establish audit-ready documentation and evidence collection practices to support internal compliance reviews\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>and external assessments\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cloud Operations &amp; Threat Response<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Maintain the operational security health of PennEngineering&#39;s AWS environment, using automation to manage\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>scaling events, configuration drift, and self-healing infrastructure\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Operationalize CrowdStrike and Zscaler telemetry by automating the correlation of security alerts to reduce noise\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>and trigger rapid, automated response workflows\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Define and own security incident response playbooks;
