In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting network equipment replacement, installation, and support projects at remote sites across Texas. You will be responsible for hands-on technical work, including the removal and installation of routers, switches, firewalls, wireless equipment, and Starlink satellite Internet hardware. The position requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and contractors. All work products resulting from this project are considered &quot;works made for hire&quot; and are the property of TxDMV. Please note that candidates may be subject to criminal background checks as authorized by Texas law. Limited travel to remote locations (generally not exceeding 5% of the time) may be required.<\/p>\n<h3>WHAT YOU&#39;LL DO<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Support projects involving the replacement and installation of network equipment at remote sites, including Meraki MX, AT&amp;T AIA-B, and Starlink hardware<\/li>\n<li>Remove, replace, and install routers, switches, firewalls, wireless equipment, and related network hardware<\/li>\n<li>Verify equipment, accessories, cabling, power requirements, and installation materials prior to deployment<\/li>\n<li>Assist with equipment staging, labeling, configuration, and shipment to remote locations<\/li>\n<li>Track equipment shipments through delivery, verify receipt at designated sites, and coordinate return shipments for replaced or defective equipment<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate equipment installation activities with remote-site personnel, contractors, and vendors<\/li>\n<li>Verify network connectivity and equipment operation following installation, performing equipment health checks and verifying interfaces, connectivity, and link status<\/li>\n<li>Provide both remote and onsite technical support during equipment replacement activities<\/li>\n<li>Troubleshoot basic hardware, connectivity, cabling, and network issues; escalate complex issues to network engineering or other technical teams<\/li>\n<li>Support network outages and service restoration activities at remote sites<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate and assist with Starlink satellite Internet service installations at designated remote locations, including scheduling, site readiness verification, and equipment delivery<\/li>\n<li>Assist with physical installation and connection of Starlink equipment as needed, and verify connectivity and service operation<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate records of equipment installed, removed, or relocated; update network documentation, equipment inventories, and site records as required<\/li>\n<li>Identify missing or outstanding equipment, coordinate resolution, and support periodic inventory reviews and audits<\/li>\n<li>Communicate installation requirements, schedules, and schedule changes to affected parties<\/li>\n<li>Schedule project meetings and installation coordination calls, document action items, and follow up on requirements through completion<\/li>\n<li>Document installation issues, troubleshooting activities, and resolutions<\/li>\n<li>Provide project status updates to network infrastructure and management teams<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate schedules and dependencies with vendors, contractors, and internal teams<\/li>\n<li>Confirm vendor completion of work and verify that installation requirements have been met; escalate unresolved vendor issues as needed<\/li>\n<li>Travel to remote locations as required to support network equipment replacement and installation projects (up to 5% of time)<\/li>\n<li>Follow all applicable company safety, security, and travel requirements<\/li>\n<li>Maintain documentation, standards, and monitoring best practices<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with network and infrastructure teams for root cause analysis and incident resolution<\/li>\n<li>Follow established network engineering standards, installation procedures, and configuration requirements<\/li>\n<li>Follow up with customers after installations to confirm completion and address outstanding items<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>WHAT YOU BRING<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>4+ years of experience maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing network hardware<\/li>\n<li>4+ years of experience maintaining, upgrading, and replacing hardware and software systems<\/li>\n<li>4+ years of experience in basic operation, monitoring, installation, troubleshooting, relocations, and maintenance of network equipment<\/li>\n<li>4+ years of experience identifying and resolving basic networking problems<\/li>\n<li>4+ years of experience installing, maintaining, moving, and assisting in testing and upgrading new and existing network hardware\/software<\/li>\n<li>4+ years of experience collaborating with network and infrastructure teams for root cause analysis and incident resolution<\/li>\n<li>4+ years of experience maintaining documentation, standards, and monitoring best practices<\/li>\n<li>Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams, and communicate effectively with remote-site personnel<\/li>\n<li>Experience tracking equipment shipments, verifying site readiness, and supporting project documentation<\/li>\n<li>Meraki\/Cisco network engineering experience (preferred)<\/li>\n<li>Experience in public-sector or regulated environments (preferred)<\/li>\n<li>Network+ certification (preferred)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to travel to remote locations as required (up to 5% of time)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to follow all applicable company safety, security, and travel requirements<\/li>\n<li>Must be able to satisfy pre-selection requirements, including criminal background checks as authorized by Texas law<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"author":0,"featured_media":1257,"template":"","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false,"_promoted":"","_job_location":"Austin, Texas","_application":"applications@staffingfuture.com","_company_name":"Brooksource","_company_website":"","_company_tagline":"","_company_twitter":"","_company_video":"","_filled":0,"_featured":0,"_remote_position":0,"_job_salary":"","_job_salary_currency":"","_job_salary_unit":""},"job-types":[8],"class_list":["post-8330","job_listing","type-job_listing","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","job-type-contract"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.6 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>TxDMV Network Support Technicians (2), Austin Texas<\/title>\n<meta name=\"description\" content=\"TxDMV Network Support Technicians (2), Austin Texas - Search the latest healthcare jobs from Brooksource.
