Sr. Reporting & Analytics Engineer

Contract Duration: 6-month initial contract with possible extension (project scope ~2 years)

Location: North Chicago, IL (100% Onsite)


Our client, a leading organization in the life sciences/pharmaceutical industry, is seeking a Sr. Reporting & Analytics Engineer for a 6-month initial onsite contract in North Chicago, IL. This highly visible role supports approximately 50–60 technicians across calibration, repair, and service functions, focusing on developing, automating, and deploying reporting solutions using Maximo and Cognos. The position partners directly with senior leadership to drive process improvements in dashboards, KPIs, and service contract management, including integration of SAP data. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience in reporting and analytics, deep expertise in Maximo and Cognos, proficiency in SQL, and a background in regulated industries. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential for collaborating with cross-functional teams and delivering actionable insights. The initial contract is for 6 months, with the overall project scope expected to last up to 2 years.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of experience in reporting, analytics, or data-driven process improvement roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with Maximo and Cognos, including building dashboards, reports, and data structures
  • Proficiency with SQL for backend data structuring
  • Familiarity with SAP highly preferred, especially for integration with Maximo to support PO/contract automation
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills; able to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in a regulated industry such as life sciences, medical device, or utilities is highly valued

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn and understand existing calibration and maintenance workflows and reporting processes
  • Develop, configure, and roll out Maximo dashboards and portlets for technician teams
  • Automate weekly and monthly KPI and metric reporting processes currently performed manually
  • Partner with leadership to identify and execute opportunities for efficiency and automation across monthly work orders
  • Contribute to long-term projects, including service contract management and renewal automation, integrating SAP data with Maximo
  • Provide insights and recommendations on data usage, process improvements, and tool integration
  • Collaborate with cross-functional personnel as needed, maintaining primary alignment with the Associate Director
