Jr. Software Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking a junior to mid-level Software Engineer to support a high-impact IT organization that services a broad range of marketing-focused technologies. Reporting into the IT Director overseeing development across mainframe, cloud, SAAS, and on-prem systems, this position is part of the on-premise solutions team. The ideal candidate will blend software development capabilities with strong interpersonal and organizational skills to help manage a steady stream of technical requests and vendor interactions.
This is a 50/50 hybrid role: you’ll split your time between hands-on coding and interfacing with vendors, performing server reviews, and supporting system evaluations. You’ll gain exposure to an enterprise-scale, highly matrixed environment and have opportunities to grow into .NET, cloud, and full-stack development.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain software applications using .NET, Python, and other technologies
- Support on-premise system development and integrations
- Assist in managing and prioritizing a high volume of vendor interactions and technical service requests
- Conduct server reviews and contribute to systems planning and troubleshooting
- Participate in code reviews, QA/testing, and automation as part of the development lifecycle
- Collaborate with geographically dispersed teams, including offshore teams
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 1–2 years of internship or project-based experience in software development
- Eager to learn and adapt quickly to different technologies and systems
- Strong sense of ownership, persistence, and a "go-getter" mindset
- Confident communicator who can navigate cross-functional teams and ambiguous situations
- Familiarity with working in a matrixed or enterprise-level organization
Tech Stack & Tools:
- Core: .NET, Python, SQL Server, Azure
- Nice to Have: Kafka, StreamSets, full-stack development experience
- Experience or understanding of cloud deployment, automation in testing, and CI/CD practices is a plus
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 1–2 years of hands-on development experience (internships or junior roles acceptable)
- Familiarity with enterprise IT environments and standard SDLC practices
