Business Continuity Consultant

Bridgewater, NJ (Hybrid – 2 days onsite)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client is seeking a Business Continuity Consultant to ensure resilience and continuity across critical systems and services. In this contract role based in Bridgewater, NJ, you will partner with technology and business teams to design, implement, and maintain robust continuity strategies for enterprise platforms and cloud services. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies, collaborating with Platform Engineering and IT Operations, and working closely with PaaS/SaaS providers. This position requires a proactive approach to risk identification, compliance, and incident response, as well as a commitment to staying current with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Develop and maintain Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies for enterprise platforms and cloud services.
  • Collaborate with Platform Engineering and IT Operations teams to identify risks, dependencies, and recovery objectives.
  • Assess and validate PaaS/SaaS provider capabilities, ensuring compliance with organizational continuity standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments, business impact analyses, and readiness testing for critical applications and infrastructure.
  • Lead incident response planning, tabletop exercises, and post-event reviews to strengthen organizational resilience.
  • Provide guidance on automation, monitoring, and failover strategies for hybrid and cloud environments.
  • Stay current on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies related to business continuity.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to ensure alignment of continuity strategies with organizational objectives.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 5+ years of experience in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, or related IT resilience roles.
  • Strong understanding of Platform Engineering principles and IT Operations frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and PaaS/SaaS solutions.
  • Familiarity with ITIL, ISO 22301, or similar continuity standards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across technical and business teams.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, business impact analyses, and readiness testing.
  • Knowledge of automation, monitoring, and failover strategies in hybrid and cloud environments.
  • Ability to stay current with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies in business continuity and disaster recovery.
