Data Engineer
Hybrid Role
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our Client is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design, construct, and maintain scalable data management systems that meet business and industry requirements. In this role, you will be responsible for building high-performance algorithms, predictive models, and prototypes, as well as integrating new data management and software engineering technologies into existing structures. You will develop processes for data mining, modeling, and production, create custom software components and analytics applications, and research innovative uses for data acquisition and utilization. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including data architects, IT, and data scientists—implement disaster recovery procedures, and recommend improvements to data reliability and quality. This is a hybrid role, offering the opportunity to work both remotely and onsite as needed.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design, construct, install, test, and maintain scalable data management systems
- Build high-performance algorithms, predictive models, and prototypes
- Ensure all data systems meet business, company, and industry requirements
- Integrate new and emerging data management and software engineering technologies into existing data structures
- Develop and implement processes for data mining, data modeling, and data production
- Create custom software components and analytics applications
- Research and propose new uses for existing data and data acquisition methods
- Utilize a variety of technological languages and tools to connect and optimize systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data architects, IT, and data scientists, to achieve project goals
- Install and update disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability
- Recommend and implement improvements to data reliability, quality, and best practices
WHAT YOU BRING
- Technical degree or related work experience
- Experience with both non-relational and relational databases (e.g., SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, MongoDB)
- Experience programming and/or architecting in a back-end language (e.g., Java, J2EE)
- Strong knowledge of data mining practices, algorithms, and data utilization
- Proven ability to design, construct, install, test, and maintain data management systems
- Familiarity with integrating new data management and software engineering technologies
- Experience building high-performance algorithms, predictive models, and prototypes
- Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
- Ability to develop and implement processes for data mining, modeling, and production
- Understanding of disaster recovery procedures and data reliability best practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
