Civil CAD Technician
On-Site Role
Compensation: $25-$28 per hour
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Civil CAD Technician to join their technical team, working closely with Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers. In this role, you will be responsible for the creation and revision of technical drawings associated with civil site design and engineering for a variety of Transmission and Distribution projects. You will play a key part in ensuring all drawings meet company, client, and ANSI drafting standards, while supporting the team with drafting, design, and documentation tasks using industry-standard software. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to grow and develop within the field of civil engineering design.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Prepare new engineering drawings and revise existing drawings based on specific sketches, layouts, or written instructions
- Adhere to company and client drafting standards and procedures
- Ensure compliance with ANSI standard drafting practices
- Assist in drafting, design, and documentation for civil site design/engineering projects
- Utilize various drafting and design software, such as Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD
- Support ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned by managers
- Collaborate with Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers as part of a technical team
- Assist with tasks utilizing additional software tools, including OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation, as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU BRING
- Associate’s degree in a CAD-related program or specialized CAD certification plus at least 2 years of relevant drafting experience
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Proficient in Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or similar drafting/design software
- Experience with OpenRoads Designer (preferred)
- Experience with MicroStation (preferred)
- Self-motivated, eager to learn, and committed to professional growth
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Basic knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
