Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Business Project Management Advisor to lead critical, high-visibility initiatives across Medical, Behavioral, Dental, Vision, and Supplemental Health lines of business. Reporting to the Project Management Senior Manager, this End-to-End Project Manager role is responsible for driving the successful delivery of complex, cross-functional projects and programs that align with organizational priorities, regulatory requirements, and operational excellence. You will provide thought leadership and direction across a diverse portfolio of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and successful adoption of solutions. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, as well as the ability to create clarity in ambiguous situations, connect business and technology impacts, proactively identify risks, and drive accountability across matrixed teams. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals who excel in navigating ambiguity, building credibility quickly, and connecting information across multiple teams to deliver high-impact results.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex, cross-functional strategic initiatives from project initiation through operational stabilization, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and regulatory requirements.
- Own integrated delivery across business, technology, and operational readiness workstreams, partnering closely with Capability Management, Business Architecture, and Technology and Business Partners.
- Partner with executive leadership and matrix partners to define project scope, success metrics, and resource strategies.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across business units, including operations, technology, network, legal, compliance, and third-party vendors.
- Proactively identify risks, issues, dependencies, and readiness gaps; develop and implement mitigation plans, escalating issues early and driving reasonable solutions.
- Maintain oversight of project funding, spend, forecasts, and financial risks to ensure alignment with approved budgets and timelines.
- Develop and maintain project artifacts such as project plans, RAIDD logs, readiness plans, executive reporting, and governance materials.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with business and technology stakeholders to drive alignment and accountability across matrixed teams.
- Ensure solutions are delivered and successfully adopted by the business, supporting operational excellence and strategic goals.
- Apply strategic thinking, creativity, and sound judgment to solve complex challenges and deliver high-impact initiatives.
- Quickly learn unfamiliar business domains, identify gaps before they become issues, and connect business, technology, and operational impacts into a single delivery plan.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in business, project management, or healthcare field preferred.
- 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in healthcare.
- Demonstrated success managing large-scale, complex projects with multiple stakeholders across business and technology.
- Portfolio management experience (minimum 2 years preferred, but not required).
- Ability to understand complex business and technology concepts at a functional level and translate them into actionable delivery plans.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and drive accountability across matrixed teams.
- Strong financial tracking, change control, and executive reporting skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent organizational and technical skills.
- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification preferred, but not required.
