Frontend‑Focused Software Engineer
Houston, TX (Hybrid, T-Th Onsite)
Hybrid role
Compensation: $30-$40/hr
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a Frontend-Focused Software Engineer to join their team in Houston, TX, working in a hybrid model with on-site presence required Tuesday through Thursday. In this role, you will drive front-end development for a project where the majority of work centers on UI/UX design, Angular development, and user-centric feature implementation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, maintainable software and contribute to both design and development decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong programming and algorithm background, with hands-on experience in modern front-end technologies and the flexibility to support backend tasks as needed.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Develop and maintain front-end features using Angular, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS
- Design and implement user-centric UI/UX solutions, actively contributing to design decisions
- Create self-contained, reusable, and testable Angular modules and components
- Utilize RxJS, NgRx, SignalR, and SVG/D3 graphics to build interactive and dynamic interfaces
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work environment to deliver robust software solutions
- Support backend development tasks as needed, demonstrating full-stack flexibility
- Employ version control and development tools such as Git, Visual Studio 2002, and VS Code
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure code quality and maintainability
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field with a strong programming and algorithm background
- Ability to create self-contained, reusable, and testable Angular modules and components
- Two or more years of experience with JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS
- One or more years of experience with RxJS, NgRx, SignalR, and SVG/D3 graphics
- Knowledge of Python, C#.Net, Git, Visual Studio 2002, and VS Code
- UI/UX design experience for contributing to design decisions (preferred)
- Ability to support backend tasks as needed (full-stack flexibility preferred)
