Job Description

Business Process Analyst – IT/Cyber Security Support

Richmond, VA (Hybrid: 3 days onsite/2 days remote)

18-month Contract-to-Hire

$40/hr.–$60/hr.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join our Fortune 300 Electric Transmission Operations Engineering Support team as a Business Process Analyst, providing dedicated IT and cybersecurity support for vendor engagements and compliance processes. In this hybrid role based in Richmond, VA, you will be instrumental in managing and maturing Third Party Risk Assessment (TPRA) processes, facilitating secure data sharing with external vendors, and supporting NDA execution. You will serve as a central point of coordination among vendors, IT, cybersecurity, legal, compliance, supply chain, technical subject matter experts, and leadership to ensure efficient and compliant vendor engagements. The team procures large-scale, non-standard equipment for the transmission organization, requiring ongoing technical data exchange and robust compliance oversight. This position offers ramp-up support from experienced colleagues and the opportunity to build structure and documentation for evolving processes. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong stakeholder management skills, enterprise IT literacy, and experience navigating ambiguous environments.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Serve as the single point of contact for Third Party Risk Assessment (TPRA) activities, from intake through completion, across all new vendors, vendor changes, and annual refreshes
  • Track and manage vendor submissions and status in Process Unity, keeping Compliance, Legal, IT, and Cybersecurity engaged to ensure timely progress
  • Field and route vendor questions throughout the assessment process, providing clear guidance and support
  • Support execution of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) with Supply Chain as a prerequisite to purchase order issuance and vendor engagement
  • Set up and maintain dedicated SharePoint sites for secure data exchange with vendors, scoped to the highest data classification required for each vendor
  • Monitor cybersecurity compliance status of fielded operational technology (OT) hardware and vendor equipment
  • Proactively identify and surface compliance gaps—such as cases where vendor-supplied hardware is later found non-compliant—to prevent reactive measures and ensure ongoing compliance
  • Coordinate weekly with Compliance, Cybersecurity, Legal, IT, Supply Chain, vendors, and internal technical subject matter experts to facilitate accurate and efficient vendor engagements
  • Build and mature TPRA processes, establishing structure and documentation where little currently exists, and help develop a formal playbook for ongoing process improvement
  • Report directly to the ET Operations Engineering Support team manager; may transition to a different manager over time and receive ramp-up support from related team members and Supply Chain colleagues

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in business process analysis, IT, or cybersecurity support
  • Strong stakeholder management and organizational skills; comfortable coordinating across many parties with competing priorities
  • General enterprise IT literacy and familiarity with business workflow tools
  • Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous, lightly documented processes and build structure where little currently exists
  • Demonstrated independent judgment and decision-making skills; knows when to escalate issues or involve others
  • Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Familiarity with operational technology (OT) and/or cybersecurity principles is a plus
  • Familiarity with regulated utilities and compliance is a plus
  • Experience supporting large-scale equipment procurement or EPC (engineer-procure-construct) projects is beneficial
