Scrum Master II / Agilist

Hybrid role (3 days per week onsite)

12-month contract with potential for extension or hire

Compensation: $70 - $80 per hour

ABOUT THE ROLE

Brooksource is seeking a Lead Scrum Master / Agilist to support AI-enabled technical product teams within the Telecom and Infrastructure sectors. This role will initially focus on guiding the TINA (AI chatbot) product team and the Infrastructure Systems Engineering (Cloud) team, with the potential to expand support as the organization grows. As a hands-on servant leader, you will facilitate Agile delivery, coach teams, remove impediments, improve delivery practices, and foster transparency across products, teams, and stakeholders. You will partner closely with the Delivery Lead, Product Owners, Product Analysts, technical leads, developers, and enterprise partners to help teams deliver measurable customer and business value. Success in this role means enabling consistent, well-run Agile events, stronger backlog readiness, faster resolution of impediments, and increased team self-management and continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and cross-team planning, ensuring events are purposeful, time-boxed, and focused on decisions, delivery, and continuous improvement
• Coach teams and leaders in Agile, Scrum, Kanban, product thinking, self-management, and value-focused delivery; help establish practical working agreements, Sprint Goals, Definitions of Ready, and Definitions of Done
• Identify, document, escalate, and track impediments, risks, and dependencies through resolution, coordinating with cybersecurity, architecture, infrastructure, data, operations, and other enterprise partners as needed
• Partner with Product Owners on backlog refinement, story readiness, estimation, prioritization, and Sprint Goal development, supporting the backlog process without owning product priorities or decisions
• Maintain clear delivery information and metrics in Jira, Confluence, and related tools; use metrics such as cycle time, throughput, aging work, Sprint Goal achievement, carryover, predictability, and impediment trends to guide improvement without comparing or ranking individuals
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among technical teams, product leadership, customers, and enterprise stakeholders; help teams prepare for demonstrations, planning sessions, leadership updates, onboarding, and knowledge transfer
• Promote team self-management, measurable continuous improvement, and reduce delivery-administration burden on Product Owners, technical leads, and the Delivery Lead

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or seven years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• Five or more years of experience with product, project, delivery, or Agile practices
• Three or more years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agilist, Agile Delivery Lead, or Agile Coach
• Scrum Master certification such as CSM, PSM I, or equivalent
• Experience facilitating Agile delivery for technical or software product teams and resolving delivery impediments, risks, and cross-team dependencies
• Strong written, verbal, facilitation, stakeholder-management, Jira, and Confluence skills
• Experience supporting multiple Agile teams, product workstreams, or teams at different levels of Agile maturity (preferred)
• Experience with AI, cloud platforms, infrastructure, telecommunications, operations, data integrations, emerging technologies, or enterprise governance dependencies (preferred)
• Experience with Scrum and Kanban delivery models and using delivery or flow metrics to guide continuous improvement (preferred)
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, communicate with technical and senior stakeholders, and bring structure to rapidly evolving work (preferred)
• Learner mindset, strong curiosity, and a practical approach to problem-solving (preferred)
