Job Description

Junior Software Developer - Back-End Digital Services (Enterprise Retailer)

Position Summary

Our client, a leading enterprise retailer, is seeking a Junior Software Developer to join its Back-End Digital Services team. This role will support the development and maintenance of cloud-based applications, APIs, and digital services that power customer-facing and enterprise retail solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate about software development, modern engineering practices, and leveraging AI-assisted development tools to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain back-end applications using C# and .NET.
  • Build and support RESTful APIs and integrations that enable digital commerce and retail operations.
  • Collaborate with product, business, and engineering teams to deliver scalable technology solutions.
  • Support the deployment, monitoring, and enhancement of applications within the Microsoft Azure cloud environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues while ensuring performance and reliability.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to development best practices.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Utilize AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms to improve development efficiency and code quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 0-3 years of software development experience through work, internships, co-ops, or academic projects.
  • Experience with C#, .NET, API development, and Azure Cloud technologies.
  • Familiarity with Git, source control, and Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Interest in modern software engineering practices, including AI-enabled development.
