Job Description
Senior UI/UX Designer / Engineer (6-Month Contract)
Nashville, TN
Hybrid role (local candidates preferred)
Compensation: $65 - $75 per hour
Duration: 6 months, with possible extension
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer / Engineer for a 6-month contract based in Nashville, TN, with a preference for local candidates in a hybrid work setting. In this role, you will design and build user experiences for a mobile-first product, working closely with marketing stakeholders to translate their needs into polished, intuitive interfaces. You will take designs from concept through to working front-end implementation, collaborating with engineering and data teams to ensure feasibility and alignment with technical capabilities. The ideal candidate will have senior-level experience in UI/UX design, particularly for Android mobile apps, strong front-end development skills, and proficiency in design tools such as Figma. Experience with design systems, web accessibility, and data-driven products is a plus.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design intuitive, visually polished user interfaces and end-to-end user flows for Android and web experiences
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications; refine designs through feedback and usability testing
- Build or collaborate on front-end implementation in React or Angular to ensure designs are accurately shipped
- Partner with marketing teams to gather requirements, present concepts, and manage feedback and expectations
- Collaborate with engineering and data teams to ensure designs align with technical and data capabilities
- Maintain design consistency across products through shared components and adherence to design standards
WHAT YOU BRING
- Senior-level experience in UI/UX design for production products
- Android mobile app design experience, with a portfolio showing shipped apps
- Front-end development experience, ideally in React or Angular
- Strong communication skills, with a record of working directly with marketing stakeholders
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma
- Exposure to Snowflake and AWS, or experience designing for data-driven products (nice to have)
- Experience with design systems and web accessibility standards (nice to have)
