Technical Support Technician

Fairless Hills, PA

On-Site Role

$20–$25/hr (DOE)


ABOUT THE ROLE

A leading operator of large-scale data centers is seeking a hands-on Technical Support Technician for a fully onsite, contract-to-hire position in Fairless Hills, PA. This role is ideal for early-career technicians eager to develop their skills in mission-critical data center operations. You will support critical infrastructure across facilities in various operational stages, ensuring the continuous operation of the site. The position offers a clear path to a permanent role for the right candidate and requires adherence to strict safety and quality standards, participation in a 24/7 support model, and occasional regional travel. The schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts (4x10), 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, with weekend coverage subject to change. WHAT YOU'LL DO


  • Move, install, and implement large enterprise hardware and equipment within the data center environment
  • Install and patch fiber and copper cabling between equipment; support rack installations
  • Identify, research, troubleshoot, and resolve technical hardware and infrastructure issues; document, track, and monitor problems through to timely resolution
  • Respond to requests for technical support across the site and follow well-established hardware installation and break-fix procedures
  • Ensure proper safety and security standards are maintained throughout all cabling and rack installation work
  • Safely use material handling tools and equipment
  • Participate in a 24/7 support model, including primary responder rotation and after-hours support as needed
  • Travel within and outside the regional work area as required
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for heavier equipment
  • Work in cramped, elevated, and/or noisy environments; ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation
  • Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing, and walking for up to 8+ hours a day

WHAT YOU BRING


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of experience in technical or vocational roles (e.g., computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations)
  • Ability to follow pre-established guidelines and procedures and work effectively under supervision
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable personal vehicle for regional travel (company transportation is not provided)
  • Safety-first mindset with ownership, accountability, and commitment to continuous learning
  • Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment (preferred)
  • Industry-standard certifications such as CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+ (preferred)
  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies (preferred)
  • Ability to regularly lift/move up to 40 pounds and participate in group lifts for heavier items
  • Comfortable working in 24/7 environments, including after-hours and primary responder rotation
  • Ability to work in cramped, elevated, and/or noisy environments
  • Physical ability for bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing, and walking for extended periods
  • Ability to safely ascend/descend ladders, stairs, and gangways without limitation
